Count Dracula – the fictitious vampire bat was quite a legend in his day. Although the origins of this fictional character are nebulous, it is generally believed that the legend originated in the Middle Ages during one of the numerous wars fought in that period. The bodies of dead and decomposing soldiers triggered someone’s creative instinct and a legend was born. Many movies and many stories were built on this character in the early part of the 20th century. Even today many Hollywood movies are based on vampires. However, Dracula as a character has declined. This was probably why today we have Draculaura – the daughter of this infamous legend as a Monster High Doll. And they are doing what all legends of the past do – entertain the present.

At a school named Monster High the children of the legendary Dracula monster have gathered to attend high school. The Monster High Draculaura is one of them. They are crafted to suit the fantasies of the present generation. They have discarded the old style haunting techniques of their parents. All these killer girls are trendy, they are ferocious and of course they are wild. Additionally, they have packed all this ferocity inside an exterior that is, to say the least, extremely attractive. If looks can kill, these girls most certainly do. And they do it in style.

The Monster High Draculaura is 1599 years old and is counting down to her sweet 1600s. On the human scale, this would be her sweet 16 year. Monster fans are going to love this combination of a sweet 1600-aged girl, with killer looks and of course a killer attitude. And there is more. Count Dracula has left behind more than one off spring. The others are Frankie Steina, Clawdeen Wolfa and Lagoona Bluea. These form a haunting combination of cool ghouls (probably an expression for ghost gals) in the high school with their fashionable outfits, killer attitudes, fearsome yet cutely attractive pets and various accessories. Each of these dolls is sold separately and each one comes with a pet, an accessory, a diary, a brush and a doll stand. Such is the attraction of these fabulous freaks that when you get one of them for your kids, there is no stopping – they will want all of them. We would recommend them for kids in the age group of 6 to 12.

The Draculaura  is said to be a vegan – she faints at the sight of blood. This is certainly ironic. She certainly has come a long way from the ways of her monster sire whose chief source of nourishment was the sucking of blood from unsuspecting victims. Crafted specifically to withstand the rough handling ways of kids, all these dolls are articulate. This ensures that they can be posed in various ways. And do not worry about breaking. The part by part nature of dolls ensures that they can be put together even if your kids pull them apart. And they are pretty hard to pull apart in the first place.

Draculaura and her siblings are especially suited for those not so pretentious and not so goody – goody kids who do not buy into the pretty – princess thing type dolls. Kids will be especially thrilled by the legends that form the background of the Draculaura and her sisters. And when imagination and curiosity get together inside a kid’s brain, they will run around in their world and enjoy every moment thoroughly. In spite of their partially tough fabric we would recommend you to present them to fairly responsible kids. They are supposed to be monster dolls with parts coming apart and falling by the side, but that is a hypothetical concept. In reality you will have to put in some efforts to snap the displaced parts back into place.
